Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.4% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 778,010 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,182 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,322 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 778,703 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.28% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.36% of total electricity consumption on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 21.58% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 18.92%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,964 megawatt-hours while imports reached 5,272 megawatt-hours.
