Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.4% to 638,015 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,366 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,677 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 660,722 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 4.2% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 208,124 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 118,764 megawatt-hours and 102,443 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,288 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,405 megawatt-hours.
