Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.2% to 870,452 megawatt-hours on Saturday according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 39,900 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,503 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 865,409 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 3.9% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 213,867 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 201,899 megawatt-hours and 176,173 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,859 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 7,901 megawatt-hours.
