Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3% to 902,689 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 41,616 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,049 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
While electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.6% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, imported coal held a share of 22.4% and the share from hydroelectricity power plants amounted to16.6%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,996 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 5,880 megawatt-hours.
