Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.94% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 827,821 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 38,451 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,070 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 831,733 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 3.02% decrease from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.7% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 14.5%, while imported coal plants held a 14.1% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,947 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,306 megawatt-hours.
