Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.8% to 648,926 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 31,537 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,979 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 647,157 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 3.1% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 173,604 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 122,657 megawatt-hours and 114,610 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,455 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,223 megawatt-hours.
