Turkey's daily power consumption down 2.56% on March 5

- Electricity exports amount to 8,660 megawatt-hours, while imports total 8,127 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.56% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 892,797 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 43,036 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,595 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 893,394 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 3.4% decrease from Thursday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 21%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 13% share.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,660 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,127 megawatt-hours.
