Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 835,183 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,650 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,641 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 843,241 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 2.53% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.64% of total electricity consumption on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 21.72% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.78%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,012 megawatt-hours while imports reached 954 megawatt-hours.
