Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.44% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 885,783 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 42,829 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,600 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 899,562 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.64% decrease from Thursday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 20.1%, while hydroelectricity plans held a 14.4% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,385 megawatt-hours, while imports total 703 megawatt-hours.
