Turkey's daily power consumption down 2.31% on Oct. 9

- Electricity exports amount to 11,237 megawatt-hours while imports reach 760 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.31% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 804,242 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,939 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,531 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 814,720 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2,10% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.84% of total electricity consumption on Friday, imported coal plants held a 20.77% share while hydropower plants comprised 17.82%.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,237 megawatt-hours while imports reached 760 megawatt-hours.
