Turkey's daily power consumption down 2.27% on Jan. 22

- Electricity exports amount to 4,674 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,907 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.27% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 931,297 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 45,473 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,202 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 934.143 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2.26% decrease from Thursday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.19% of total electricity consumption, hydropower plants held a 17.99% share, while imported power plants comprised 13.90%.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,674 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,607 megawatt-hours.
