Turkey's daily power consumption down 22.2% on May 23

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 4,117 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,541 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 22.2% to 530,563 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.


Hourly power consumption peaked at 01.00 local time with 26,144 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 17,667 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.


Total electricity production reached 530,139 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 21.8% decrease compared to the previous day.


The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 128,471 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river plants and hard coal followed with 109,448 megawatt-hours and 81,848 megawatt-hours, respectively.


On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,117 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,541 megawatt-hours.
