Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.27% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 859,171 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,658megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,714 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 859,214 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 2.36% decrease compared to Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 39% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 13.4% while wind energy plants comprised 12.8%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,787 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,928 megawatt-hours.
