Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.2% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 841,887 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 39,068 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,557 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 847,957megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2.2% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.7% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 17.4%, while lignite plants held a 14% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,370 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,417 megawatt-hours.
