Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.13% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 938,773 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Electricity production reached 943,889 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2.29% decrease compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,260 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,623 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 31% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Friday, hydropower plants held a 21.18% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.74%.
On Fridy, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,767 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,651 megawatt-hours.
