Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.13% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 908,038 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,344 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,048 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 912,322 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a 2.15% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 19%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 15.9% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,383 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,259 megawatt-hours.
