Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.12% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 983,129 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,282 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,729 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 993,299 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2.12% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34,2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 16.4% while wind plants comprised 14.4%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,920 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,839 megawatt-hours.
