Turkey's daily power consumption down 2% on Oct. 28

- Electricity exports amount to 10,339 megawatt-hours while imports reach 1,487 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 763,043 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 36,779 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,148 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 771,894 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.1% drop compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36,02% of total electricity consumption on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 19,83% share while lignite plants comprised 14,99%.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,339 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,487 megawatt-hours.
