Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2% to 806,955 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,541 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,126 megawatt-hours at 04.00.
Total electricity production reached 799,900 megawatt-hours on Wednesday with a 1.97% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 189,148 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and wind plants followed with 172,947 megawatt-hours and 119,286 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,863 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,918 megawatt-hours.
