Turkey's daily power consumption down 2,8% on Oct. 31

- Electricity exports amount to 12,374 megawatt-hours while imports reach 4,829 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2,8% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 738,404 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.


Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 35,714 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,605 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.


Electricity production reached 745,949 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a 2,79% decrease compared to the previous day.


While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30,20% of total electricity consumption on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 24,38% share while Lignite plants comprised 15,12%.


On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,374 megawatt-hours while imports reached 4,829 megawatt-hours.
