Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 19.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 761,045 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time, reaching 36,101 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,204 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 769,969 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 14.98% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.7% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 20.2%, while imported coal power plants held a 17% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,651 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,814 megawatt-hours.
