Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.91% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 955,807 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,484 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,322 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 966,544 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.88% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 42.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 16.3% while lignite plants comprised 13.2%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,062 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,462 megawatt-hours.
