Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.9% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 941,187 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.15 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 46,548 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,261 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 947,474 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.8% decrease from Thursday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 20.1%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 17.7% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,067 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,794 megawatt-hours.
