Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.86% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 860,442 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 41,343 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,837 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 868,911 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.53% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.45% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.55% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 15.21%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,027 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 557 megawatt-hours.
