Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.72% on May 7

- Electricity exports amount to 13,763 megawatt-hours, while imports total 8,064 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.72% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 843,073 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 38,719 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,320 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 848,850 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.75% decrease from Thursday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.5% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.2%, while imported coal power plants held a 13.3% share.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,763 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,064 megawatt-hours.
