Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.72% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,050,452 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,920 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,525 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,061,005 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.66% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 17.4% while wind plants comprised 13.8%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,585 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,219 megawatt-hours.
