Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.73% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 876,795 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,665 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,165megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 882,075 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.85% fall from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 39.1% of total electricity consumption, lignite plants contributed 15.3% while imported coal plants comprised 14.1%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,610 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10445 megawatt-hours.
