Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.66% to 683,475 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 31,598 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,118 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 684,887 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 0.83% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 196,996 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and imported coal plants followed with 132,064 megawatt-hours and 122,419 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,757 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,346 megawatt-hours.
