Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.61% to 779,055 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time with 35,678 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,956 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 766,903 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an 3.14% decrease compared to Thursday.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 200,433 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 146,532 megawatt-hours and 125,051 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,793 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,945 megawatt-hours.
