Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.64% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,041,835 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,273 megawatt-hours at 16.00 local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,303 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,050,570 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.66% fall from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 38% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 16.4% while lignite plants comprised 12%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,848 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,231 megawatt-hours.
