Turkey's daily power consumption down 16% on April 11

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 7,111 megawatt-hours, while imports total 3,868 megawatt-hours on Saturday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 16% to 541,195 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 28,126 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 18,617 megawatt-hours at 10.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 544,438 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 15.5% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 150,420 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and lignite hydroelectricity plants followed with 99,792 megawatt-hours and 90,080 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,111 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,868 megawatt-hours.
