Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.54% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,125,298 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,797 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 37,624 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,134,233 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.55% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.6% of total electricity consumption, hydropower plants contributed 21.8% while imported coal plants comprised 14.3%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,717 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,856 megawatt-hours.
