Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.5% on Nov. 5

- Electricity exports amount to 13,917 megawatt-hours and imports total 9,584 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 865,065 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,241 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,951 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 869,636 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.5% fall compared to Thursday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21% while lignite comprised 15.5%.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,917 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,584 megawatt-hours.
