Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Thursday by 15% compared to the previous day to 791,950 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 01.00 local time with 36,864 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,895 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 798,319 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 14.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 202,120 megawatt-hours. Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 183,430 megawatt-hours and 127,553 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,289 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 1,919 megawatt-hours.
