Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 14.65% to 575,512 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 28,123 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 19,481 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 564,792 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 15.08% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 145,755 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and imported coal plants followed with 109,574 megawatt-hours and 109,368 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 676 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,396 megawatt-hours.
