Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 13.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 751,091 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,328 megawatt-hours at 13.00 local time on Tuesday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 26,915 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 762,728 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 13.4% decrease from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 19.5% while lignite plants comprised 15.8%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,397 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,863 megawatt-hours.
