Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Thursday by 1.35% compared to the previous day to reach 925,246 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,833 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,059 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 928,206 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.38% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.21% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Thursday, hydroelectricity power plants held a 24.39% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.70%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,319 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,358 megawatt-hours.
