Turkey's daily power consumption down 13.1% on March 1

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 7,143 megawatt-hours, while imports total 13,154 megawatt-hours on Sunday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 13.1% to 704,880 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 35,014 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,055 megawatt-hours at 09.00.

Total electricity production reached 698,869 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 13,3% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 192,158 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 167,451 megawatt-hours and 92,727 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,143 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,154 megawatt-hours.
