Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.3% on Jan. 8

- Electricity exports amount to 4,117 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,003 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.3% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 883,131 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 41,904 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,036 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 884,387 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.3% decrease from Thursday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal held a 22.6% share while wind plants comprised 15.2%.​​​​​​​

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,117 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,003 megawatt-hours.
