Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.25% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 900,705 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,911 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,320 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 899,509 megawatt-hours on Thursday, with a decrease of 1.57% from Wednesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.5% share while hydro plants comprised 14.6%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,970 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 873 megawatt-hours.
