Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 12.3% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 897,299 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,110 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,433 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 900,633 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 12.4% increase compared to Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.1% while lignite plants comprised 14.2%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,184 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,403 megawatt-hours.
