Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 12% to 639,793 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 31,543 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 23,236 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production totaled 642,738 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 12.2% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from coal imports totaling 204,328 megawatt-hours. Lignite production and hydroelectricity followed with 134,534 megawatt-hours and 115,721 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,240 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 6,295 megawatt-hours.
