Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.2% on Feb. 5

- Electricity exports amount to 9,035 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,597 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.2% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 858,745 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 41,328 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,546 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 865,334 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1% decrease from Thursday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.6% share, while lignite plants comprised 14%.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,035 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,597 megawatt-hours.
