Turkey's daily power consumption down 11.8% for Dec. 15

- Turkey's electricity exports total 6,135 megawatt-hours while imports amount to 12,059 megawatt-hours on Sunday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 11.8% to 715,881 megawatt-hours on Sunday in Turkey, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 34,750 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 26,518 megawatt-hours at 06.00.

Total electricity production reached 709,957 megawatt-hours on Sunday, with a 12.28% drop compared to the previous day.

The majority of output came from imported coal plants totaling 204,819 megawatt-hours.

Lignite and natural gas plants followed with 146,060 megawatt-hours and 144,165 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,135 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 12,059 megawatt-hours.
