Turkey's daily power consumption down 11.61% on Sept. 15

- Turkey's electricity exports total 3,474 megawatt-hours while imports reach 7,636 megawatt-hours on Sunday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.61% to 703,773 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 34,181 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 25,035 megawatt-hours at 08.00.

Total electricity production reached 699,610 megawatt-hours on Sunday, with a 11.88% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 157,85 megawatt-hours.

Lignite and wind plants followed with 144,183 megawatt-hours and 132,902 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Sunday, Turkey’s electricity exports were at 3,474 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 7,636 megawatt-hours.
