Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 677,053 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,578 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,397 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 684,503 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.17% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 21.85% share while lignite plants comprised 17.16%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,472 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,022 megawatt-hours.
