Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.15% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 920,914 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 11.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,686 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,852 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 934,910 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 0.98% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.68% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 17.25%, while imported coal plants held a 13.43% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,921 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,266 megawatt-hours.
