Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 774,958 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 35,913 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,590 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 787,335 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.7% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 16.6%, while lignite plants held a 14.3% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,181 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,860 megawatt-hours.
