Turkey's daily power consumption down 11.3% on Sept. 13

- Electricity exports amount to 3,728 megawatt-hours while imports reach 3,396 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.32% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 778,770 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 37,542 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,917 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 778,437 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking an 11.56% decrease compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.90% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 23.49% share while local coal plants comprised 12.82%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,728 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,396 megawatt-hours.
