Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.24% to 607,524 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 29,458 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,160 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 611,281 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 10.87% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 188,449 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and lignite plants followed with 128,556 megawatt-hours and 80,749 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,114 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,357 megawatt-hours.
